"On the day of corruption, a flood of unregistered accounts from someone's malicious selfbot entered my server and wreaked havoc until everything was gone. All of my roles and channels were obliterated and/or duplicated and changed to something vulgar, my server name was also a victim and almost all of my members were banned or left due to the amount of @everyone pings they received."
I'm sure most of us have lived that true story of mine but fortunately, now, Security is here to stop those hateful acts at the doorstep with its simple yet, effective verification process that unregistered bots cannot bypass!
When fully configured, authenticated but, unverified users will have to press a button to receive a role to speak in the server.
NOTE: For this to work properly:
The @everyone role must have absolutely ZERO permissions by default!
Create a role named anything you want (usually something like verified)
The verification role must have Send Messages & View Channels permissions.
- (as well as any other permissions you may want your verified members to have)
In your verification channel you have set (or want to set), make sure the @everyone role has the permission to View Channel. This is to allow unverified members to verify themselves!
